cost

  • What does your Export Compliance List Checking service cost?
Access to our export compliance list checking web-service starts at $1000 per month, for 5000 requests. We provide 99.999% uptime SLAs, ensured by an architecture that includes high-availability design, geographic dispersion, and detailed audit databases. In addition to list-checking, our standard service allows for your own whitelist and blacklist development, using individuals, companies, countries, or IP networks. Our service stands-alone, but used in conjunction with our entitlement and distribution platform you get even more features to help you manage and automate your compliance with international export regulations. • How much does your software cost?
Many factors that contribute to the price of our platform, some we control and other we don't. So, presenting a fixed-pricing matrix is not very practical, or useful. One thing all of our customers had in common, prior to adopting our platform, was too many people doing too many complex and repetitive tasks in the release, sale, and distribution of software. An investment in devsysops, software delivery, and license management, will start at $250,000 / USD annually as the baseline for your ROI and TCO calculations. If you are looking to support daily interactions with hundreds of thousands of customers world-wide, a larger investment will be necessary

e-commerce

  • Do you support e-commerce?
Yes we do. Most of our customers manage their own e-commerce catalogs and storefronts with dedicated point-of-sale tools. Once the order has been taken, our RESTful web services consume the order details and make the appropriate entitlements, and even send customized order confirmation emails. If you don't already have storefront or shopping cart technology, we can provide these for you and accelerate the integration on to our entitlement management platform. Additionally, we have lots of experience with payment-processors and PCI / PHI information management, so we can help your teams navigate these issues as well.

  • How often do you update your export compliance lists?
We monitor the source lists for changes multiple times a day, and update our production databases every 24-hours after inspecting and testing the changes. We post the "freshness date" of the database update right on the compliance dashboard, so you always know the date of the most recent changes.

file size

  • Is there any limit to file size or file format in your system?
No. In fact, our system has been used to store complete disk-backups/clones in certain situations. File size will matter when planning your customer-experience but from an OMS perspective, if you are building the software, we can help you entitle and distribute it.

integration

  • How do you manage customer-facing interfaces?
    We have two types of interfaces that your customers access;
    1. RESTful web-services or APIs
    2. Download and License management pages
In most cases you'll simply call an OMS web-service directly from your customer portal. Getting a single download file is one example. However, there are times where you may choose to use the OMS SafeHarbor authored application pages for your customer-facing implementation. We have a highly refined and friendly user experience "out of the box" that handles the complexities of license management, subscriptions, account self-service, and many others. If you are pressed for time, or like the idea of utilizing tools that have been refined over decades of use and millions of customer interactions, you might want to try our GUIs. Of course, we've designed them to easily work with your core site's branding, templates, and style guides. The OMS tools will seamlessly work with your website's look and feel.
  • How long does it take to get running on your platform?
Our applications can be configured in less than a day, however it typically takes a 4-6 weeks to bring a customer fully on-board. The items that usually need the most time are the migration of existing orders/entitlements and software libraries. Adoption of our RESTful web services for orders, NPI, account creation, and authentication are very straightforward, but you will want to allow ample time to complete, or incorporate the new processes into, your enterprise testing cycles.
  • How do you integrate with other systems already in place at my company?
    OMS has may years of experience dealing with systems integration. The key component to any successful integration project is a clear understanding of the business objectives we're attempting to achieve. Business objectives, not technical objectives. Far too often integration projects become slave to change orders simply for the sake of change or existing technical debt. So, OMS manages integration this way;
    1. Cleary understand the business objective.
    2. Pass the minimum amount of data needed to achieve the objective.
    3. Data should flow in one direction.
    4. Our customer should always be the Prime source for data.
    5. Right-time is more important than real-time.
    6. OMS has existing RESTful web services for orders, entitlements, uploads, downloads, new product introductions (NPI), and user authentication. Let's use those, and we'll even write your side of service at no charge.
OMS has completed integration with all the biggest ERP systems; Oracle, SAP, Siebel, and smaller "custom" implementations  of order management systems and access control tools.

licensing

  • What licensing technologies do you support?
OMS is officially "license enforcement technology agnostic". Because of our component and service-based architecture, we are able to work with any license key tools or schemes you have onboard. Our system is compatible with home-grown key-systems and many of the leading commercial licensing toolkits available today. If we haven't seen it before, rest assured, we can make it work!

security

  • How do you manage security concerns?
OMS SafeHarbor develops software and systems that provide state of the art controls over the entitlement process for software, licenses, and digital assets. Orders, subscriptions, support contracts, evaluation periods, bundled product and service agreements, are all being negotiated in finer and more precise details. The OMS platform manages entitlement based on inputs from CRM systems, order management systems, ERP tools and application lifecycle management systems. The results are presented dynamically in a customer-facing Entitlement Center portal. As such, OMS software may transit, store, collect, or present information and data assets that are subject to varying levels of access control and financial sensitivity from our customer's perspective. We protect our customers intellectual property and data via a number of complementary methods.
    1. We recruit and hire outstanding people.
    2. We design the application to only hold data that is required to execute the designed business function.
    3. We architect the infrastructure to isolate data and reduce risk based on likely threats.
    4. We monitor and stay up to date with security-related issues regarding threats and mitigation.
    5. We employ access control policies and logging / monitoring via the application and infrastructure.
    6. We employ data and communication encryption techniques across the application and infrastructure.
