2008/10/07 OMS Presents at Software Business Conference October 31st, 2008 in San Fransico

TJ Caveney, VP of Sales and Marketing will be presenting "Customer Self-Service: Electronic Software Distribution - The Competitive Edge" at the upcoming Software Business Conference in San Francisco October 30-31. TJ's session is currently scheduled for 11:25am on Friday October 31st.

This presentation highlights how establishing a customer self-service center can help boost your company's competitive edge through better customer support, and reduced product delivery and support costs. It starts out defining the base functionality that a customer self-service center should have and how the customer can be empowered to act when and how they feel it necessary while having their needs better serviced. The flip side is the company downloading support costs, streamlining distribution and reducing service calls. The presentation outlines the goals and discusses how a phased approach can provide tactical wins while addressing strategic goals such as increased sales, marketing, business intelligence and internal productivity gains and reduced time-to-market.

2008/09/09 Physical Distribution Payment Integration

OMS has now has extended their electronic software distribution (ESD) application to allow clients to charge customers for physical copy orders (shipping and handling costs).

The new PayPal integration allows those customers requesting physical copies to be prompted for payment before any optional physical copy request is processed. The extension allows customers to be designated as VIP or regular customers where VIP customers are exempt from the payment processing.

The payment integration enables a company to pass through the cost of production and shipping costs to customers and can be used to encourage customers to move from the physical to the ESD model.

 
2008/09/02 Data Verification and Export Compliance Service

OMS has extended their services to include data verification and export compliance. The new Data Verification and Export Compliance Service (DVECS) can be run as either a standalone service or integrated with our existing ESD solutions. DVECS allows clients to improve export compliance procedures through both a manual interface and through a standard Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) web services interface. OMS maintains the government-controlled lists and offers the ability for clients to create custom lists for extended compliance and/or data validation purposes.

OMS Announces Plans to Extend the Reach of its EntitleNow! Platform. OMS SafeHarbor will be offering three plans under the EntitleNow! SMB solution. The first is intended for those customers who need to distribute a single product to a known set of customers, a one time site. The second plan offers a full ESD implementation allowing customers to see their orders and products along with product updates. The final plan offers an integrated eCommerce solution to allow customers to purchase online and then download within minutes of the purchase the product deliverables.

Cadence Selects OMS SafeHarbor to Provide their Global Release Management System; RESCUE Allows Cadence to Automate Business Processes for Product Release and Production. OMS SafeHarbor's RESCUE solution streamlines the Cadence internal software release process and provides a secure central repository for digital assets. RESCUE allows Cadence to configure software bill-of-materials within the application and assign component-specific due dates. The solution's permission-and status-based software architecture controls access to individual digital assets and provides status updates on each component. RESCUE eliminates the need for physical CD masters and documentation to be mailed throughout an organization, since all files can be delivered electronically. All the metrics in the product release process are reportable and auditable.
