The ACROSS Entitlement Center not only allows a user access to the base products they purchased but can also contain the updates associated with those products. Product chaining allows your administrator to link updates to products and release them, then depending on the business rules associated with the update entitlement can be granted. For instance, an update may only be available to those customers who have a maintenance contract in effect. Once processing is completed, automatic notification can be performed. This creates a push notification and a self-service pull for the update.
Update checking can also be scheduled via our ConnectNow application. This can be done via API by your software or by the user in our graphical user interface. In either case, the customer only receives those updates he qualifies for. Of course, your administrator or customer support personnel can grant them a manual entitlement if the need should arise.
Treating each customer uniquely has never been easier. It provides incentives for customers to keep maintenance or subscription agreements active and removes access questions for items they are not entitled to. Additionally, you can use the entitlement center to manage special programs (like beta versions) and opt-in programs (like resource centers or development centers or newsletters).
